Haley Jack Field
Haley Jack Field is an independent pop singer-songwriter from Nashville with a chip on her shoulder. Her music reveals the pain and pining of queer love, loss, and betrayal. With influences like Chappell Roan, Conan Gray, and Sara Bareilles, Haley balances listenability and depth as she explores her angst with warm, emotive vocals over a cinematic pop soundscape. She’s the moody lesbian the indie music scene has been missing.
Haley Jack Field’s debut album A Letting Go—and the deluxe edition with features from Brianna Musco, Cayley Spivey, and Chase Coy—chronicle the too-familiar journey of missing someone who hurt you and reckoning with that hurt, accepting there will be no closure. With confessional lyrics that underscore her wry sense of humor, this album is Haley having that one-sided reconciliation in front of us, letting us in as she’s letting go.
Her most recent release I Could Be Him, an EP of sapphic covers, takes songs originally sung by men and reimagines them from a uniquely sapphic prospective. The project is a collaboration with fellow sapphic artists TomboyJ, Emory Parker, and TYA. Haley Jack Field has refined and updated her moody sound, incorporating a retro pop influence to deliver her take on these fun, throwback songs with catchy melodies and plenty of ear candy.
Producer, collaborator, and frequent co-writer Chase Coy describes Haley as “a talented artist who is chronicling her journey through an incredible collection of songs. Not only does she navigate topics of love, loss, and trauma deftly, but she also manages to make it all so damn catchy and digestible.”
